Starting out in the analogue world of the nineties, Orange Mic understands the purist musician perspective of tape sound and live off the floor production using vintage microphones. But most indie bands go broke or fall short, trying to achieve it.
When the world changed Orange Mic was already ahead of it, having spent the last decade perfecting online, distributed music production and recording methods to over come distance and availability of the participants.
Orange Mic can provide education on demand regarding necessary recording hardware, as well as setup assistance.

The recording and production will take place at your rehearsal space, or a rental recording/rehearsal space of your choice. I have all the necessary gear to capture your sound and I've developed powerful recording techniques to make it happen.
Mixing will take place at my studio.
For example, the songs from Music Player 1 are produced and recorded using this method.

Working online has become an important tool for musicians and the music industry. With today's technology, we can see an increase of popularity all over the world. If you have a song / album to record I can give you guidance in real time over the internet on how to record it. There are very important steps involved in the process of recording which can be easily skipped by a musician. When the tracks are done, I'll mix them for you.
For example:
Track 2 from Music Player 2 - song recorded live off the floor in a studio by the artist. My role was to salvage the poor recorded audio tracks, turning them into a great song.
This is a very powerful solution, in terms of cost vs quality. If you have a song poorly recorded, I can re-record it entirely for you. Exception are the vocals which you have to record them yourself afterwards.
Also I can re-create / re-record individual tracks poorly recorded: drums, guitars, bass.

MIXING, ONLINE MIXING
It takes a great mix to create an excellent master. The music industry is constantly changing, and, today more music than ever before is recorded in small project studios or even at home by the artists themselves, rather than in major studios by experienced engineers. While this can be very liberating for artist--because they get to spend all the time they need without the clock ticking--the sound quality often suffers. This is where I step in. I can transform your recorded tracks (even an off-the floor recording) into a great audio experience.

MASTERING
Mastering is essentially the stage of the audio production process that enhances digital audio before replication, duplication or radio play. Through creative compression, equalization and limiting, your digital audio is brought up to "radio" "CD" standards.
Why do you need Mastering?
If you compare your music with your favourite CD, you will probably find that your Non-Mastered mix sounds sonically inferior. Your mixes may not be loud enough, they are too crisp or they have too much low end. All recordings needs Mastering to fix problems within the mix. Even if the mix is "perfect", you will still need a Mastering Engineer to adjust the volume levels to be competitive and consistent.

Music is life!
As a diplomats son, Orange Mic travelled the world experiencing different cultures and a myriad of musical styles. This upbringing forever expanded his palette and passion to create.
As a young adult Orange turned that into a career as a session guitarist, songwriter, as well as a playing in a hard rock act travelling Europe.
After moving to Canada in 2007 Orange Mic decided to dedicate his new life to mastering in-box production abilities through, endless research and hands on training.
